Happy Friday! You may have noticed that your students brought home their chrome books today. The forecast for Sunday looks very interesting. If we get the winter storm they are predicting, we may have to take Monday as a virtual day. If we decide to have a virtual day on Monday, I will make that decision Sunday night between 7pm and 8pm. I want to give you as much time as possible to prepare.

Ok... We had something come up at the elementary and we need to change our COVID numbers. We have 4 in isolation and 23 in quarantine at the elementary. We are still doing very well, but we did have to quarantine a few students today.

Please watch this week's video update about limiting the spread of COVID-19 and the need for substitute teachers.

The update will come out tomorrow. We are still gathering information for this week's update.
Thanks and Go Warriors!

Our current COVID cases in the school are relatively low. COVID cases in the county are back up to nearly 100 new cases per day. The next two weeks are critical for the school. If we can make it through these two weeks, we hope that we will be able to remain with in-person learning for a sustained period of time. School personnel will probably not receive vaccinations on the 1st due to vaccine shortages in the county.

Please watch the weekly update at https://youtu.be/fuh1WA6HIjo
The update covers in-person learning on the 11th, reporting illnesses to the school nurse, and new quarantine guidance.

To ensure that COVID is not spread through athletics, we are pausing all Jr. High and Sr. High Basketball and Cheerleading activities until January 4th. We hope that pausing these activities now will increase the likelihood of continuing these sports in January.

Please watch the video update to learn more about NW Schools going virtual for Jan. 4th-Jan. 8th, attendance expectations on unplanned virtual days, Board meeting to be held virtually, and no holiday band concert.

Congrats to a Northwestern Alumnus!
Each year the Clark County Retired Teachers Association awards $1000 scholarships to college students preparing to become teachers. In June of 2020 Maria Rinaldi, a 2018 graduate of Northwestern High School received one of these scholarships. Maria is currently at Miami University studying Integrated English Language Arts.
