Happy Friday Warrior Nation! If you haven't watched the video I put out recently, I am canceling classes for students on October 26th. The staff will be reporting to work for self-care activities that day. On October 26th from 4pm to 8pm, we are inviting the community to our campus for a fall festival event we are calling the Northwestern Harvest of Healing. We will have food trucks and tons of activities. I still need volunteers to help with all aspects of the event! Everyone is welcome to participate or bring an activity for people to do. Email me if you want to provide an activity. Go Warriors!
Bump for Becky is this Saturday, 10/14/23, at Northwestern High School. The doors open at 9:00 am, and the first match is at 10 am (Varsity match to follow). There will be a silent auction, baked goods, concessions (including iced coffee, breakfast sandwiches, and hamburgers), pink and gray t-shirts sold at the event ($15), the band playing, the food truck Blended by J, and great volleyball! Please come out and support your Northwestern volleyball teams and this year's recipient, Bridgette Shaw. Bridgette is a mother of three Northwestern students, and we hope you can join us in supporting her as she battles small cell lung cancer.

To increase student wellness and address barriers that prevent students from engaging in learning, schools and districts are now required to provide feminine hygiene (menstrual) products for students in grades six through twelve. In the 2022-23 school year, there were over 476,000 female students in grades six through twelve that this new requirement will impact.
Effective Oct. 3, 2023, Ohio Law requires each traditional public school district, community school, STEM school, chartered nonpublic school and other public school with school buildings that enroll girls in grades six through twelve to provide free menstrual products.
In response to this law, Northwestern Local Schools will provide free and easy access to feminine hygiene products in our clinics and care closet. Additionally, “grab-n-go” hygiene bags have been assembled and are also available in the Jr/Sr High clinic.
Good afternoon NWES Parents and Guardians. This afternoon at approximately 3:15 p.m. one of our fourth-grade staff members experienced an emergency health situation. The students in the classroom were taken to another classroom with the assistance of other staff members. If your student was in this class during this emergency and is struggling emotionally, we will have support in place for them tomorrow at school. This staff member is receiving the medical attention that is needed. Please keep this person in your thoughts and prayers. Feel free to call or email the school if you feel your student could use assistance.
Thank you!
Reminder to all families: Monday, September 25th is a virtual day. Have a great weekend!
